365daband Is Showing You How It’s Done

365daband

Popular dances become that much better.

Everyone knows the key to a successful group is not only their talent but the ability to put on an amazing show. Whether this be during the performance of your own hits or the additions you decide to bring to the table. Vietnam natives, 365daband knows this fact first hand and held nothing back while performing at the Pepsi Now show. Beginning with some adorable hip rolling before moving onto some adorably acrobatic couple dancing, the guys end on a quick rendition of the horse dance while getting their groove on to Psy’s overwhelmingly popular Gangnam Style.

The screaming fans lucky enough to sit in on the gig hold nothing back in sharing their enjoyment of the group’s cover. Standing ovation gentleman for engaging the crowd in more fun ways than one!

Psy To Release US Album In September

Psy fans, prepare yourselves.

Psy’s 7th Korean album, which is coming this September, will also be his first released in the United States. The singer himself confirmed this exciting news, saying:

It’s going to be my seventh album in Korea and my debut in North America.

No news whether or not the album will feature songs in English as it is not specific to the United States and is in the early production stages, however the anticipation of this long-awaited day will have fans excited no matter what.

Will this album have a song that can compare to the success of Gangnam Style? Will Psy continue to conquer the world with his catchy, unique music? I absolutely believe so.

Psy Has No Contenders At “Much Music Awards”

psy

Not only can he provide catchy singles but his sense of humor is just as popular.

Among all the leading names being dropped at Canada’s Much Music Awards, Psy seemed to be the most acknowledged. Not only was he among the hosting lineup, but Psy got to perform not once but twice. Oh yes both of his hit single were enjoyed by the crowds.

However when beginning the show, Psy explained he was nervous to use his quote-unquote not so polished English was his biggest fear. Thankfully, it wasn’t long before he realized that it was unnecessary nerves. He opened the show with a blasting rendition of Gangnam Style, during which he commanded the arena to bounce with them. Sadly he was met with audience members paying more attention to their phones. Ok, so they were taking memorial pictures of the night, but unsatisfied, the super star demanded less camera and more action.

Nearly a year after mega-hit Gangnam Style took the world by storm, Psy is still raking in the love by going up for the Viral Video of the Year. No surprise that it had no real competition considering its more than 1 billion views.

Throughout the night with plenty of jokes, Psy also took a try at Beyonce’s Single Ladies, leaving the audience in guffaws.

To end on a special note, Psy couldn’t leave without his hip moving single, Gentleman. And boy what a performance it was for Canada.

Here take a look:

[News] PSY Stands at the Forefront of Korean Tourism

PSY
[News] PSY Stands at the Forefront of Korean Tourism
“PSY will headline Korea’s efforts to increase tourism by introducing popular travel icons. Users will be able to actively interact with the campaign by uploading their own unique contents on Wiki Korea, which will become an online database about Korea Travel, just like Wikipedia.”

Global sensation PSY and the Korea Tourism Organization(KTO) launched an interactive campaign that will encourage tourism in Korea. TV commercials were released on June 3rd that highlight popular Korean food and tourist spots, such as Samgyeopsal, Banchan, Bulgeum, Cosmeroad, Olle-gil, and Dongdaemun.

In addition to the TV commercials, the campaign also launched ‘Wiki Korea through KTO’s tour portal site ‘BUZZ KOREA’ (www.ibuzzkorea.com). The website shows 27 items(Yasik, Susansijang, Bungeoppang, Pageon, Banchan, Samgyeopsal, Jeonju bibimbap, Tteokbokki, surasang, Jagalchisijang, Temple Stay, Olle-gil, Georieungwon, Dolharbang, Minsokchon, Pocha, bulgeum, Garosu-gil, Hongdaeap, Cheongdam-dong, BB cream, Jeontongsijang, Cosme Road, Gangnam, chak-syat, Dongdaemun) and borrowed elements from the renowned internet encyclopedia, Wikipedia. Users can submit their own opinions and questions about each item in different formats – video, text, or photo. KTO will select 8 users who upload the best contents on the website and reward them by taking them on a 7 day 6 night tour to Korea accompanied by popular Korean celebrities. Other rewards include a Samsung SMART Camera or a gift set for those who aren’t able to make it to the top eight

“This Year, we are determined to introduce Korean tourist icons. They will highlight Korea’s spirit (Ki), entertainment (Heung), and heart (Jeong), which are key elements of Korean culture. I’m sure that they can be loved worldwide. KTO’s new ambassador PSY is a global super star. His songs ‘Gangnam Style’ and ‘Gentleman’ showed great global appeal, having over 2 hundred million views worldwide. We believe we can leverage PSY’s global popularity to effectively promote tourism in Korea; and hence, will use the TV commercials, which are starred by PSY, to grab the attention of our global audience,” Charm Lee, CEO of KTO, said at a morning press release on June 3rd.

Over the past years, KTO hasn’t been afraid to use different strategies with its advertisements. In 2010, KTO selected Yong Jun Bae, a famous Korean Actor, to appeal to Japanese tourists. The next two years, Korea chose ‘2PM’ and ‘Miss A’ due to an increase in popularity of K-pop. Last year, the ‘Touch Korea’ campaign starred by actress Se-Young Park was nominated as one of the top 10 consumer-favorite advertisements by Singapore’s mass media group ‘MediaCorp’. Moreover, according to the ‘2012 Korea Tourism Advertising Effectiveness Survey,’ the rate of positive responses reached 86%.

“We will differentiate our strategy by connecting TV commercials and online promotions together in order to effectively engage users to learn about and visit Korea, said Charm Lee.

PSY as a guest on Radio 1!

For the second time, PSY has been a special guest on Radio 1. In this interview, PSY tries a popular British dish ‘toad in the hole’ for the first time.

Listeners were also allowed to send in questions, one of them being “What’s your favourite part of the UK?” where he jokingly replies “not the food, or the weather.”

As part of the interview, one of the Radio DJ’s Scott Mills mentions about PSY‘s impersonators. Scott had previously recorded a video of him dressed up as PSY and walked around Oxford Street in London to find out if people could tell the difference between PSY and an impersonator. Surprisingly enough, most of the public realized that he wasn’t PSY, with one person just shouting “Scott Mills?!”

[News] PSY Wows the Crowd at the “Social Star Awards”

The inaugural “Social Star Awards 2013” held at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by The Bay over three days from May 24 to 26 saw a star-studded line up that featured Aerosmith, Jessica Alba, Cee Lo GreenCarly Rae Jepsen, and PSY. It is the first of its kind to be held in celebration of the world’s social media superstars across multiple mediums such as YouTube, Facebook, Google, Twitter, and it covers almost all aspects of social entertainment, including music, TV, film, fashion, and sports.

To many’s surprise, Aerosmith did the opening set instead of the finale. They performed a total of three songs including “Crying“, “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,” and “Walk This Way.” Since most of the awards winners weren’t present to accept the virtual trophies, guests sat through the two-hour long show laughing at funny videos and watching recorded winning speeches. At intervals, we were treated to live performances by Cee Lo Green, Eric Benet, and an amazing dance by Wreaking Crew Orchestra.

SHINee Interview With “K-Star Day” [ENG]

shinee

Congratulations on 5 years, shining SHINee.

In the wake of their 5th year anniversary fan meeting, Special Party, SHINee Day, SHINee interviewed with K-Star Day at Arirang TV. The 5 members answered various questions, ranging from how they felt about their recent fan meeting to how it felt for the members to perform as one unit after main singer Jonghyun‘s unexpected break.

Breaking up the questions were clips from the fan meeting, including: various glimpses of their performances, Taemin performing the horse dance from Psy‘s Gangnam Style, and an aegyo competition between the members.

As they are answering questions, the members of SHINee give some memorable answers. Jonghyun said that it really hit him that they were celebrating 5 years as a group, when he arrived at the fan meet location and saw the huge banner hanging outside the building. At one point during the interview, rapper Minho remarked that it felt as if their debut date, May 25th of 2008, was just yesterday. I can say with full confidence that Shawols around the world feel the same way, Minho.

[News] Psy's 'Gentleman' Passes 400 Million Mark, YouTube All-Time Top 16

Psy's music video of "Gentleman" has passed the next landmark at 400 million view counts on YouTube, becoming the 16th most watched video of all time on YouTube.

The music video, released on April 13, has collected over 406,000 clicks and 2.3 million likes.
Along with reaching the new landmark, the video surpassed Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song" which is just shy of 400 million in view counts.

Currently, Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" stands in the fifteenth spot, just 7 million ahead of "Gentleman." It can be safely assumed that Psy's music video will pass Gotye's in the coming weeks as well.

Psy has three videos in the top 20 most watched YouTube videos of all time. "Gangnam Style" sits alone at the top at 1.6 billion views, while his rendition of "Gangnam Style" with 4minute's HyunA stands at number 20 with 350 million views.

[News] Psy Promotes Korea Via Advertisement on CNN, National Geographic, YouTube

Over the last year or so, Psy has become the face of Korea for many people in the world who have come across the relatively small country in Asia not as well known as China and Japan via "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman." Psy will now utilize his popularity across the globe to promote the nation of Korea, encouraging tourism, raising more awareness and putting Korea on the global map, so to speak.

Beginning today, Psy's advertisement of various Korean attractions will air on CNN, CCTV, National Geographic, and, of course, YouTube, where Psy is pretty familiar with.

The video, titled Psy's WikiKorea, is a series of six 15-second clips that describe popular attractions including ancient heritages and bustling nightlife.

A new website that works similar to user-operated Wikipedia, named ibuzzkorea.com, has been launched as well. Internet users are able to create and edit Korea-related contents on the website.
Regarding selecting Psy as the face to represent Korea, the Korea Tourism Organization stated, "Psy is one of the few common denominators across the globe today. He will be effective in transcending ethnicities, nationalities and cultural barriers to promote our national attractions to those on the other side of the planet."

4Minute,Hyuna
[News] 4Minute Hyuna's Role Model: Psy Oppa?

have thought that 4Minute's HyunA already considered PSY as her role model even before "Gangnam Style" dominated every music chart in the world? Well, it's true. HyunA revealed in tvN talk show "Baek Ji Yeon's People Inside" that she really considered PSY as her role model even before she met him. About 12 years ago, when she saw PSY's first performance and she was inspired by it, she described PSY's performance as incredibly energetic while he was on stage.

HyunA also was asked how she got the opportunity to appear on PSY's music video "Gangnam Style". The vixen songstress shared how that appearance on PSY's music video helped her pursue her dream of becoming a singer.

The MC of the show aslo ask HyunA why she picked PSY as her role model?, HyunA simply answered that she liked what PSY puts on every performance, the overflowing energy that he gives while the crowds goes wild as his music echoed.

HyunA also shared what it's like to be working with PSY, at first she felt awkward but in the end PSY really takes care of her especially when they've done the music video. HyunA also expresses her thoughts about "Gangnam Style", it was a great song and the lyrics and the dance moves were all perfect and a lot of fun.

Netizens commented on HyunA's interview and complimented that HyunA and PSY are both amazing, also they've commented on the horse dance which is pretty sexy.

H&M Get it Wrong With ‘Oppan Gangnam Style’ Shirts

H&M in the UK have started stocking Psy style shirts with the caption ‘Oppan Gangnam Style!’. The printed short sleeve shirt also has a picture of Psy on the front of it.

This probably isn’t the first time that the lyrics for Psy‘s ‘Gangnam Style’ has been slightly misinterpreted. Rylan Clarke did a short cover last year on X-Factor UK live shows and pronounced “Oppa Gangnam Style” as “Woopa Gangnam Style”.

The shirts at most UK H&M stores can be found in the men’s section and comes in a variety of sizes including small, medium and large. The shirt is priced at £9.99 if you are interested in buying one for yourself.
