[News] Psy Promotes Korea Via Advertisement on CNN, National Geographic, YouTube

Over the last year or so, Psy has become the face of Korea for many people in the world who have come across the relatively small country in Asia not as well known as China and Japan via "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman." Psy will now utilize his popularity across the globe to promote the nation of Korea, encouraging tourism, raising more awareness and putting Korea on the global map, so to speak.

Beginning today, Psy's advertisement of various Korean attractions will air on CNN, CCTV, National Geographic, and, of course, YouTube, where Psy is pretty familiar with.

The video, titled Psy's WikiKorea, is a series of six 15-second clips that describe popular attractions including ancient heritages and bustling nightlife.

A new website that works similar to user-operated Wikipedia, named ibuzzkorea.com, has been launched as well. Internet users are able to create and edit Korea-related contents on the website.
Regarding selecting Psy as the face to represent Korea, the Korea Tourism Organization stated, "Psy is one of the few common denominators across the globe today. He will be effective in transcending ethnicities, nationalities and cultural barriers to promote our national attractions to those on the other side of the planet."
