On July 29,  YG Entertainment  has revealed that PSY is currently in the process of producing the next album and plans to release it worldwide presented in September. The singer is currently in  Los Angeles , Californina  and is working with partners are trusted music compilation  Yoo Gunhyung . 

A representative from the company he commented, " As far as I know, this will be a shift segment accounting for people's tastes. Instead of a single, this album will include a few more songs . " 

Earlier, PSY has swept the world by storm with "Gangnam Style" and tried to repeat the that with the next song "Gentleman . " 

On 28 July, the British newspaper " The Sunday Times "reported," PSY plans to release an album in the UK in the second half of this year. "

On July 25, world star Psy tweeted some news, saying, “I’ve had a creative meeting with Scooter Braun.” He posted a photo taken with Scooter, who’s helping Psy promote his album in the US. In the photo they look like close friends.

Currently, the star is producing his next material while staying in the US, which is attracting public attention on how he’ll come up with another hit after receiving a lot of love with huge success of his songs “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman.”

Scooter Braun, who promoted Justin Bieber, making him one of the world’s biggest stars, is Psy’s head manager in the US.

K-Pop fan receives standing ovation from X Factor judges

A self-confessed K-Pop fan has shocked judges with her rendition of Mariah Carey’s Hero on X Factor Australia on Monday night.

Dami Im was not shy to tell viewers that she was a K-Pop fan (and damn right, she should be proud!) on last night’s premiere of the X Factor in Australia.

“I’m in love with K-Pop.” The 24-year-old said in her segment as 4minute’s You Know played in the background.

Im, a piano teacher who moved to Australia from South Korea at the age of nine said that she loved the “colourful music videos” and “colourful looks” of K-Pop.

“I really wanted to sound like the good K-Pop singers, but I realised I wasn’t a good singer at all, but I think I’m good now.” Im said.

Singing a cover of Mariah Carey’s classic ballad Hero, judge Ronan Keating seemed less than excited to listen but that quickly changed when Im sung the the first words of the song.

“You’re a star, you’ve got one hell of a voice.” Keating said after the performance.

Fellow judge Natalie Bassingthwaighte agreed and said that she “loved it” when people took her by surprise.

LMFAO’s Redfoo, on the other hand, took the pun and said, “I don’t really think a hero lies in you, I think the X Factor lies in you.”

Dami Im’s segment was aired right after the show featured a segment of horrible auditions of PSY’s Gangnam Style, which featured predominently of Asian hopefuls who thought they could sing.

Did “Gentleman” meet the same success as “Gangnam Style”?

On July 29, YG Entertainment revealed that PSY is currently working on his next album and plans for a world release in September. He is in Los Angeles, California at the moment and is collaborating with “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman” partner in crime composer Yoo Gun Hyung.

A representative from his agency commented, “I heard that it will be a song that many people will like. Instead of a single, there will be several songs included in the album.”

PSY previously took the world by storm with “Gangnam Style” and tried to repeat the success with followup “Gentleman.”

British newspaper “The Sunday Times” stated on July 28, “PSY plans on releasing an album in England within the second half of this year.”

After chowing down, they took to their talents to Hollywood's Walk of Fame!!!

Surely onlookers assumed Psy and will.i.am were celebrity impersonators hoping to make money off of photos ops, but they assumed wrong!!!

So, are the musicians concocting plans to create the most well-clicked video in the history of YouTube or are they just bestiez?

Kim Hyun Joong is “Unbreakable” in Latest MV ft. Jay Park

Kim Hyun Joong‘s back and ready to tackle the K-pop industry once again!

Kim returns to his “Breakdown” days with his dark “Unbreakable” music video. The music video features phenomenal visuals by mixing traditional and modern Korean culture. Traditional dances such as pungmul nori (spinning hat dance) and geommu (sword dance) were featured along with power b-boy moves performed by Jay Park, whose rap is featured in the song as well. Another aspect of traditional vs. modern would also be the transformation of a black horse into sleek black Lamborghini.

The music video cost an estimated 300 million won and was produced by Jo Soo Hyun, the man behind Psy‘s record-breaking hits, “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman“.

“Unbreakable” is a hip-hop song featured in Kim Hyun Joong‘s upcoming 3rd mini-album, Round 3 , set to be released online on July 22nd and in-stores on July 29th.

NU’EST Are In Turkey For Season 3 Episode 2 Of “L.O.∧.E Story”

NU’EST are challenged to shop for their ㄴㅇㅅㅌ.

Aron, Ren, Minhyun, JR, and Baekho were in Turkey earlier this month as guest judges for the K-Pop Festival In Gangwon 2013 Kpop cover contest. While there, they performed and also interacted with their local fans. The latest episode of their web series chronicles the trip the members took to a local market while overseas.

Each member is given 20 Turkish Lira as a budget. The goal is to buy an appropriate gift for their fans. The boys strike out by choosing options that are beyond their monetary limit. They can’t escape dancing to PSY‘s Gangnam Style with a local merchant. I won’t spoil what they eventually choose as gifts. You’ll have to watch to see.

What is the most-searched word in Google Korea?

 

Google Korea released a list of the most-searched words for the first half of 2013, which include the most popular entries for celebrities and TV programs.

Beating Psy and other top world star K-Pop idols, the popular animation, Pororo the Little Penguin, emerged as the most-searched words in Google Korea. MBC show Infinite Challenge followed behind the little penguin, and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin came in third.

Although Psy’s overwhelming worldwide phenomenon got overshadowed by Pororo the Little Penguin, two of his millions of views hit songs completed the rest of the top 10, as followed in descending order: Gangnam Style, actor Park Si-hoo, the movie Masquerade, TV personality Kang Ye-bin, Gentleman, skater Kim Yu-na, and lastly the Japanese animation Attack on Titan.

For the most-searched entries of the celebrities, the list as follows: Ryu, Park Si-hoo, Kang Ye-bin, Kim Yu-na and TV personality Clara, with Infinite Challenge being the most-searched TV program.

KPOP Stars Support “Superstar China”

Can’t wait to see what artist emerges from this show.

An adaption of Superstar K, Hubei TV will broadcast its first episode of Superstar China on July 7^th. Many KPOP idols have given their support through video shout-outs and participation on the show. PSY, who judges on Superstar K, performed his latest hit Gentleman, along with Gangnam Style, at the Superstar China launch ceremony. The judges of this Chinese spin-off show include Alan Tam, Sha Baoliang, Pace Wu, Wu Bai, Qu Ying, and Hacken Lee. F(x)‘s Victoria will also be judging an episode.

Superstar China is gaining much support as Shinhwa gave a shout-out to the new show. It is also rumored that SHINee may appear on a show; however, Hubei TV and Superstar China have yet to release any official information on the matter. Whether new popular KPOP stars guest star on the show, time will only tell. With promotions of PSY and Victoria already in the mix, the first episode of Superstar China is sure to be a hit.

It’s that time of year again! YouTube has finally created the Top 10 list for K-Pop (and K-Pop related) videos of the first half of 2013. It spans from the top ten K-Pop music videos in Korea and globally, along with top videos of user-generated content globally. PSY sweeped the lists with Gentleman; even number one on the UGC chart involves this hit song: dance group Waveya made a great cover of Gentleman. Many other familiar faces were also on the top ten lists: SISTAR19, Roy Kim, 4Minute, BoA, Lee Hi, Baechigi, G-DRAGON, INFINITE H, Super Junior M, SHINee, B.A.P, and EXO. The Gwiyomi Song was also very popular on the user generated content list.

BIGBANG Is Working On a New Album and World Tour!

The Popdust Files: bigbang, K-pop, taeyang

2013 is shaping up to be a huge year from YG Entertainment. Following new music from PSY, Lee Hi, and CL in the first half, the second half is due to see 2NE1′s long-awaited comeback, as well as sophomore albums from both G-Dragon and Taeyang, and the possible launch of a new girl group and new boy band.

With a workload this full, you’d think that BIGBANG would barely have time to gel their hair, let alone work on a new album, but it looks like they might be back sooner than expected. Taeyang let the good news slip while partying at Paris Fashion Week, telling WWD that not only is the band recording a new album, but they also have another world tour in the works.

HUGE, right?

Although there’s no tentative release date on the new BIGBANG music yet, it’s exciting just to know that they’re still planning some new stuff while working on their own solo projects.

While we all freak out over this wonderful news, let’s enjoy this fly photo of Taeyang and professional fashionista, Mademoiselle Yulia, chilling in matching his ‘n’ her sweaters at the Kenzo show.
